Make these delicious honey garlic meatballs the next time you're craving something sweet, tangy and savory. Perfect when paired with a crisp salad and your favorite rice recipe, and equally delightful when served as an appetizer.
Ingredients
2 large eggs
3/4 cup 2% milk
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ground beef
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
Instructions
1Make the meatballs
2In a large bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Add the bread crumbs, diced onion and salt. Crumble the beef into the mixture and stir well to combine. Shape into 1-in. balls. Place on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan and bake, uncovered at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes. They're done when the meat is no longer pink.
3Make the honey garlic glaze
4Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, saute the garlic in butter until it's golden brown and tender. Stir in the ketchup, honey and soy sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat; cover and simmer for five minutes.
5Glaze the meatballs
6Once meatballs are done, drop them into the saucepan. Carefully stir to evenly coat, and cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
