These waffle sandwiches have a sweet, smoky flavor thanks to three meats, a slice of cheese and apricot preserves. Make them with store-bought waffles to save time, or pull out that waffle maker and make them fresh.
Ingredients
1/2 cup apricot preserves
8 frozen waffles
4 slices deli turkey
4 slices deli ham
4 slices Havarti cheese (about 3 ounces)
4 bacon strips, cooked
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Maple syrup
Instructions
1Assemble the sandwiches
2Preheat the griddle over medium heat. Spread the preserves over four waffles. Layer with turkey, ham, cheese and bacon; top with the remaining waffles. Lightly spread the outsides of the waffles with butter.
3Cook on the griddle
4Place the sandwiches on the griddle and cook them for four to five minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through. Serve with syrup for dipping.
