The best foods are sometimes the simplest. Our maple-glazed pork chops, with a sweet, tangy glaze of maple syrup and cider vinegar, come together quickly, and they're so delicious you'll be thinking about making them again before you finish eating.
Instructions
1
Bread the pork chops
2
In a large shallow dish, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add the pork chops, and flip them over to coat both sides.
3
Fry the pork chops
4
In a large ovenproof skillet, cook the chops in butter over medium heat until a thermometer reads 145°F, four to five minutes on each side. Remove the chops and keep them warm.
5
Start the glaze
6
In the same skillet, bring the vinegar to a boil. Reduce the heat, then add the maple syrup. Cover the skillet and cook the syrup mixture for 10 minutes.
7
Finish the glaze
8
In a bowl, combine the cornstarch and water until smooth, then gradually add the cornstarch mixture to the maple mixture. Bring the liquid to a boil, then cook and stir until it thickens, about two minutes.
9
Broil the pork chops
10
Place the chops on a broiler pan, then sprinkle them with the brown sugar. Broil them 4 inches from the heat until the brown sugar is melted, one to two minutes. Drizzle the pork chops with maple glaze before serving.
