Oktoberfest pizza gives a Bavarian twist to an Italian staple. With smoked kielbasa, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, it's also a winning dish for game day.
Ingredients
1 tube (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust
1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/4-in. slices
2 teaspoons butter
2 cups leftover or refrigerated mashed potatoes
1 cup sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
Instructions
1Prep the pizza crust
2Unroll the dough into a greased 15x10x1-inch rimmed baking pan. Flatten the dough and build up the edges slightly. Bake it at 425°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
3Cook the sausage
4Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute the kielbasa in butter until it's browned.
5Top the pizza
6Spread the mashed potatoes over the crust. Layer them with sauerkraut, kielbasa, cheese and caraway seeds.
7Bake the pizza for 10 to 15 minutes or until it's golden brown.
