Air-Fryer Steak
Air-Fryer Steak
10 min2 servings

This easy air-fryer steak recipe takes all the uncertainty out of cooking steak at home. It is even better with a pat of homemade garlic butter.

Ingredients
1 beef flat iron steak or boneless top sirloin steak (3/4 pound)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
Instructions
1 Prepare the steak
2 Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Take the steak out of the fridge 15 minutes before you plan to put it in the air fryer so it can come to room temperature. Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper. Editor's Tip: For a caramelized crust on the outside of the meat, rub it with a teaspoon of olive oil before sprinkling with salt and pepper. This isn't a necessary step when cooking a steak on the grill or in a cast-iron pan, but in an air-fryer, the oil is necessary to create a crust.
3 Air-fry the steak
4 Place the steak on the tray in the air-fryer basket. Cook until the meat reaches your desired doneness, anywhere from 8 to 10 minutes, flipping it over halfway through. For medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; for medium, 140°; and for medium-well, 145°.
5 Make the flavored butter
6 Meanwhile, combine the softened butter, minced fresh parsley, garlic and soy sauce.
7 Rest the steak
8 Remove the steak from the air fryer, and let it sit for 10 minutes so the juices don't spill out when you cut into it. Top the air-fryer steak with a dollop of flavored butter.
