An ice-cold blueberry mojito is the perfect way to beat the heat this summer, whether you're pitmaster or sitting poolside.
Ingredients
8 fresh blueberries
8 fresh mint leaves
1 cup ice cubes
2 ounces white rum
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon simple syrup
4 ounces club soda, chilled
Optional: Lime slice, mint sprig and additional fresh blueberries
Instructions
1Muddle the mint and blueberries
2Place the blueberries and the mint leaves in a tall glass. Muddle them with the back of a wooden spoon or a cocktail muddler. Editor's Tip: If you're making traditional Cuban-style mojitos, add superfine sugar to the glass and muddle it with the mint and blueberries. Skip adding the simple syrup in the next step.
3Build the mojito
4Add ice to the glass, followed by rum, lime juice and simple syrup. Top the glass with club soda, and gently stir to combine.
5Add garnishes
6Garnish with additional mint, a lime slice and a few blueberries.
