Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package, then drain.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, warm the oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add the ham, red pepper and onion. Saute for four to six minutes, until the ham is browned and the vegetables are tender. Make the pasta sauce

Pour the chicken broth and lemon juice into the pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced by half.
