This protein waffles recipe is packed with protein from eggs, oats, Greek yogurt and whey protein powder. Each waffle contains 12 grams of protein—or more if you add a protein-rich waffle topping like nut butter or chia jam.
Ingredients
3 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
1/4 cup vanilla whey protein powder
3 tablespoons plain oat milk
2 tablespoons honey
1-1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional: Maple syrup and fresh fruit
Instructions
1Blend the waffle batter
2Preheat the waffle maker. Add the eggs, oats, yogurt, protein powder, oat milk, honey, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon and salt to a blender. Cover and process them until the batter is smooth. Editor's Tip: After blending the batter, you can fold in additions like chocolate chips or blueberries.
3Cook the waffles
4Bake the waffles according to the manufacturer’s directions until they're golden brown. If you'd like, you can serve them with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
