Feed a crowd in under 30 minutes with this easy recipe for barbecue sandwiches.
Instructions
1
Cook the beef and onions
2
In a Dutch oven, cook the beef and onions until the meat is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain any liquid and grease. Editor's Tip: If you prefer to remove as much grease as possible, brown the beef and saute the onions separately. After cooking the meat, transfer it to a paper-towel-lined plate to absorb any excess fat, then return it to the Dutch oven after sauteing the onions.
3
Stir in the sauce
4
Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper. Heat the filling through.
5
Build the sandwiches
6
Serve the barbecue ground beef on buns and if desired, top the sandwiches with sliced pickles or other garnishes. Editor's Tip: For choose-your-own-adventure barbecue sandwiches, serve all the garnishes on the side so everyone can pick their favorite topping.
