Homemade Cranberry Juice
30 min8 servings

To make this homemade cranberry juice, the fruit is stewed into syrup that's used as the base for the drink. Orange and lemon juice are stirred in to enhance the sweet and tangy flavors.

Ingredients
2 quarts water
8 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup orange juice
Instructions
1 Boil the cranberries
2 In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, bring the water and cranberries to a boil. Reduce the heat, then cover and simmer the fruit until the berries begin to pop, about 20 minutes.
3 Strain the juice through a fine strainer, pressing the mixture with a spoon. Discard the leftover berries and return the cranberry juice to the pan.
4 Add the remaining ingredients
5 Stir in the sugar, lemon and orange juice. Bring everything to a boil, then cook and stir until the sugar dissolves.
6 Chill the cranberry juice
7 Remove the juice from the heat and let it cool. Transfer the juice to a pitcher, then cover and refrigerate it until the juice completely chills.
