Ingredients
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3-1/2 cups cold 2% milk
2 packages (3.4 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 carton (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 package (15-1/2 ounces) Oreo cookies, crushed
Optional: Gummy worms and shaved white chocolate
Instructions
1 Whip up the filling
2 In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the cream cheese, butter and confectioners' sugar together until mixture is smooth and lump-free. In another large bowl, whisk the milk and pudding mixes together for two minutes, then let the mixture stand for two minutes until the pudding is soft-set. Gradually stir the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture, then fold in the whipped topping.
3 Layer the cake
4 Spread 1-1/3 cups crushed Oreos into an ungreased 13x9-inch dish. Spoon half the pudding mixture over the crushed cookies, spread it out, then sprinkle on half the remaining cookies. Repeat the layering once more.
5 Chill and decorate
6 Refrigerate the dirt pudding recipe for at least one hour before serving. If desired, shave chocolate on top and decorate with gummy worms. Editor's Tip: See our recipe variations section for how to make your dirt pudding look like a vegetable patch!
